Features
A forging and casting alloy consisting mainly of aluminium and silicon. Generally contains 11% silicon. At the same time add a small amount of copper, iron, nickel to improve the strength. Density 2.6~2.7g/cm3. Thermal conductivity 101~126W/(m·ºC). Young's modulus is 71.0GPa. Impact value 7 to 8.5J. Fatigue limit ±45MPa.

In aluminum-silicon alloys with silicon content exceeding Al-Si eutectic point (11.7% Si), silicon particles can significantly improve the wear resistance of the alloy, and constitute a kind of wear resistant alloy with a wide range of uses. The alloy with 11%~13% silicon content is one of the best piston materials because of its light weight, low expansion coefficient and high corrosion resistance. Adding related non-metallic raw materials to metal aluminum can change the physical properties of aluminum.
