Thiourea is a reducing agent and sulfur-containing reagent commonly used in organic synthesis, mainly used to reduce internal peroxides and ozonides. It can also be used as the equivalent of nucleophilic hydrogen sulfide to synthesize mercaptan, sulfonic acid, sulfonic acid and its acyl chloride. It is also often used in the synthesis of heterocyclic aminothiazole, pyrimidine and thioheterocyclopropane and formamidine sulfonic acid

Application:
1.Used in medicine making.
2.Used as a chemical fertilizer in agriculture
3.It can also be used as a vulcanization accelerator for rubber, a flotation agent for metallic minerals, a catalyst for the preparation of phthalic anhydride and fumaric acid, and as a corrosion inhibitor for metals.
4.In photographic materials, can be used as a developer and toner. It can also be used in electroplating industry.
5.Thiourea is also used in diazo sensitive paper, synthetic resin coating, anion exchange resin, germination accelerator, fungicide and many other aspects.
6.Used as raw materials for dyes and dyeing auxiliaries, resins and plasticizer.
