Functions and Applications
1. Cerium oxide is mainly used as lens polishing agent, rare earth cerium polishing powder is widely used in the polishing of cameras, camera lenses, TV picture tubes, eye lenses, etc.
2. Used in the glass industry, where cerium oxide and titanium dioxide are combined to make glass yellow;
3. Cerium oxide for glass decolorization has the advantages of stable high temperature performance, low price and no absorption of visible light. In addition, cerium oxide is added to building and automotive glass to reduce ultraviolet light transmission. For the production of rare earth luminescent materials, Ce02 is added as an activator in the rare earth trichromic phosphors of the luminescent materials of energy-saving lamps, as well as in the phosphors used for indicators and radiation detectors. Cerium oxide is also the raw material for the manufacture of various metals cerium.
