Cerium oxide is an inorganic substance, chemical formula CeO2, light yellow or yellowish brown auxiliary powder. Insoluble in water and alkali, slightly soluble in acid. At 2000℃ and 15MPa pressure, cerium oxide can be reduced by hydrogen to obtain cerium trioxide. When the temperature is free at 2000℃ and the pressure is free at 5MPa pressure, cerium oxide is yellowish, reddish, and pink. Its performance is to do polishing material, catalyst, catalyst carrier (auxiliary), ultraviolet absorber, fuel cell electrolyte, automobile exhaust absorber, electronic ceramics and so on

Functions and Applications
1. Cerium Oxide, also called Ceria, is widely applied in glass, ceramics and catalyst manufacturing. In glass industry, it is considered to be the most efficient glass polishing agent for precision optical polishing.
2. It is also used to decolorize glass by keeping iron in its ferrous state. The ability of Cerium-doped glass to block out ultra violet light is utilized in the manufacturing of medical glassware and aerospace windows.
3. It is also used to prevent polymers from darkening in sunlight and to suppress discoloration of television glass. It is applied to optical components to improve performance. High purity Ceria are also used in phosphors and dopant to crystal.
