Physical properties:
Form: Ethylcellulose is usually a white to slightly yellow powdery substance, and can also be in fiber or flake form.
Solubility: Ethylcellulose dissolves in water to form a colloidal solution with good solubility.
Thermal stability: Ethyl cellulose has good thermal stability within a certain temperature range and can be used in high temperature resistant applications.
Chemical properties:
Chemical reactions: Under certain conditions, ethyl cellulose can undergo chemical reactions such as esterification and etherification, thereby changing its properties and uses.
Hydrophilicity: Ethylcellulose has certain hydrophilicity and is miscible with water and other polar solvents.

Applications
Packing and Storage:
Because this product is insoluble in water, but soluble in a variety of organic solvents, it is commonly used as an adhesive for tablets and granules, which can increase the hardness of tablets and reduce the brittleness of tablets. It can also be used as a film agent to improve the appearance of tablets, isolate the taste, avoid the failure of water-sensitive drugs, prevent the deterioration of drugs, and improve the safe storage of tablets. It can also be used as skeleton material for skeleton sustained release tablets.
Used as a slow-release coating to adjust the drug release rate in combination with water-soluble polymers;
Slow-release microencapsulated material;
Used as an organic solvent film coating material, the film is firm and durable;
Used as an adhesive for water-sensitive pharmaceutical preparations.
