Titanium oxide sulfate is produced by the reaction of ilmenite with sulfuric acid in sulfuric acid process. After purification, freezing and removal of ferrous sulfate, press filtration and concentration, titanium oxide sulfate is hydrolyzed, and then washed, filtered and dried to obtain metatainic acid.
