Features
The formula is Mg(OH)2. Molecular weight 58.33. Colorless hexagonal crystal. The relative density is 2.36. Almost insoluble in water and alcohol, the solubility in water (18℃) is 0.0009g/100mL, the solubility product is 1.Chemicalbook2×10-11, the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. Soluble in dilute acid and ammonium salt solution. When water is present, it absorbs carbon dioxide from the air to form basic magnesium carbonate or magnesium carbonate. When heated above 200℃ in alkaline solution, it becomes hexagonal crystal system.

Applications
