Nano silica is a good filler for reinforcing high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. Nano-silica aggregate has a good reinforcing effect on silicone rubber. After nano-silica powder is added to rubber, a microcrystalline region with silica as crystal core is formed, which increases the physical crosslinking point and is more prone to crystallization, and the strength of rubber can be significantly improved.

Nano-silica as a reinforcing agent and anti-aging agent is applied to rubber products, which can improve the strength of rubber products, improve toughness, anti-aging, anti-friction fire, prolong life and other functions.
Nano-silica is the reinforcing filler of RTV silicone rubber, which can improve its strength. On the one hand, it is due to the small size effect and large specific surface area of nano dioxide particles. On the other hand, because its surface contains a lot of silicon light groups, the particles can form a network structure through the action of hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces, while the silica particles will also have a strong interaction with polysiloxane molecules, improving the interface condition. The reinforcing effect of nano-silica on silicone rubber is affected by its particle size, specific surface area and structure, generally the smaller the particle size, the larger the specific surface area, the higher the structure, the better the reinforcing effect, and the higher the strength and hardness of vulcanized rubber.
